General information

The below table includes information about the status update we do for the various translation tasks:

• The name of the translator (only his first name)  this person is primairly responsible for the chapter
• The section that the person is / was working on.
• The status. If someone is working on this, there is a progress indictor here, else you can see the short status

What do all the STATUS messages mean?

NS: Not started
TR: Translating (with progress indicator next to it)
FI: Finished translation
RV: Review (Technical and linguistic)
SG: SGML Check
DO: Completely done
RE: Released in the FreeBSD tree

Who manages the documentation releases? Remko Lodder maintains the documentation in perforce where Remko also has the option to import the documents into the official FreeBSD CVS Repository.

You can find the CVS Versions of the FreeBSD version via CVSup or using the webinterface visible here and additionally you can find the Work in Progress here.

At the moment I am using perforce to keep track of my local changes, please ask me for more information if you want to have the latest version available (work in progress actually).

Remaining work and thanks

We have a lot of work done, are loosly updating, but we have more ongoing projects! Checkout the articles and website for instance, they can be translated as well :-).

Special thanks to: Josef El-Rayes who was actively involved with the setup for the dutch Project. We also need to thank Simon L. Nielsen who mentored me for the FreeBSD documentation team and hosted the CVS repository for our documentation, many thanks to the FreeBSD developers themselves as well, we use the FreeBSD perforce server and can build upon the knowledge of the developers.

Ofcourse We should also thank the translation team, and then in particular Rene Ladan and Siebrand Mazeland, they where/are the most active translators in the team.
