Yeah a Democratic Victory, or at least it feels a bit like the way it should. CO2 storage in Barendrecht is no longer a viable option for the government. One of the reasons mentioned is that the local community (including my own person) did not carry the plans at all. It took some time but now the plans are over (for the time being, the world runs on “money”, so if it is viable to do so moneywise, they will get the plans out of the closet again).
I am rather happy about that, mostly because of the “Local community does not support the plans” part. IF a local community votes against something, then there should be someone listening, that is the strength of democracy. Sadly democracy is decaying and this is a very bad thing.
People; please let your voices be heared when things are planned and you do not agree. Get back to the good old times and protest, it’s not for me.. it’s for yourself!
