If you live in the Netherlands and are in Rotterdam, you have a wide range of restaurants to pick to have dinner or let it deliver to you. Near my home you also have the restaurant called Mediteranne, located in the Spitshagen. For years(!) we ordered food there on the occassion (every once in a while ~ once every three months or something) and it normally tasted well, I had dinner there once (which was a lesser experience because the restaurant itself was empty). But we tossed them overboard permanently after recent experiences with them. We ordered food every my parents returned home from holiday, to ‘celebrate’ their return to the country. The order took place at 17.00 and were informed that it would likely to take 45 minutes, with the safety net of 60 minutes. OK! That was something we could live with. At 1810 we started calling them because we didn’t see someone yet and the hour was already over. We were informed that there was an accident with the food (it fell, or the driver of the motobike fell) and that he would leave within 2 minutes again to deliver it within 4 minutes). At 1825 we called again and were told that he already left ages ago and should have been there already. Our dinner time already expired and I needed to return Luca to home, so we told him to
In all those years and all the money we spend, we didn’t get an alternative or anything compensated, not even a sorry (“Yeah we were about to call you! We are underway!”) and only lies. Sad that a customer has to leave like this. I would like to tell you all, do not eat or order food there. If something goes wrong, you are the wrong person, not the restaurant itself. Soon we will find out if there are better alternatives. Ofcourse the story would have been different when the guy called us at 1800 that they weren’t going to make it because something happened so that we could have decided what to do. Lies do not count.
