I've backported the driver to 7-STABLE, and it works nicely for me.
See http://docs.FreeBSD.org/cgi/mid.cgi?1222090773.43647.16.camel for links/instructions/

iwn(4) had been imported by Sam Leffler, as far as I was able to see. I asked him whether this could be merged to stable/7 either by him or by myself if he approves that.

We'll see how that goes :)

Petr,

I think you should ask Benjamin Close (benjsc@) about the status of this driver.
He also brought in the wpi (Intel 3945ABG) driver.

Remko, is there any chance for having iwn driver backported from 8.0-CURRENT to 7.1-RELEASE. Intel 4965AGN driver is very frequent now, e.g. in laptops, and its hard to live without it. So unless the driver panics the kernel, I support its backporting... (even if there are some minor flaws).
