So I asked Warner to review some (minor) new patches that extend the functionality of if_fxp and if_re, patches were written by others and I didn’t see any problems with them. Currently working on low hanging fruit, but also working on importing the new tz2007 stuff, adding new sierra wireless drivers (written by the submitter of the ticket) , and backlog patches from the GNATS db. These things are not the hardest thing to do, just take some time and a source committer that is willing to process them (I am one of them now).
Anyway; going to fix a few more patches for Warner after test building them on sledge (an AMD64 system running on -current so that I can test the patches more easily then on my 6-stable branches at home).

Well I will just assume that it was the time drift that made me a bit upset. Went to bed quite early yesterday and I feel much much better again. The world is positive again and the sun is shining (, I feel good, I feel right and no one is going to stop me nowww.. [Queen]). Already resolved several issues at work and progressing towards finishing yet another project. There are also new projects upcoming (major firewall revision upgrade, perhaps new intercommunication path’s (a bit vague’ , sorry for that)) so enough possibilities to work on and help my collegue’s.

Yesterday I just relaxed, woke up rather early {11am summer time} and did my thing. Watched a movie with my dad (Munich) and read a bit and just tried to have a good time. This worked amazingly well. Yesterday was a great relax day
Today at work, everything went fine actually; I made sure we were able to roundup several projects and found some long lost machine’s. Well at least I couldn’t find it and the devices were not reachable, which was right because they were turned off :).
Also got a visit from Snow today; they expressed that everyone is still very happy with me and I am with Snow and my current assignment so going strong
Oh yeah recently I forgot to mention that I am scripting in perl a lot to process a lot of the infrastructural needs where possible
Going to work on some commit approvals for source now and stalk Warner Imp with my requests

So, Big was my surprise this morning about the European Community Constitution, the Dutch will have to accept the Constitution in 2009. Just recently there was a public referendum about whether the Dutch would accept this. The outcome was a devastating NO.
Now we have to swallow it in 2009. Where did our democracy go to? I figured that the public opinion was supposed to make the government follow that lead. Sadly the reverse seems to be the case. The rules are trying to be established by the European Community and pushed through the various governments, without asking the people for their opinion.
Our personal Harry Potter (Hi Jan-Peter Balkenende) is nicely following with those rules, eventhough the people had chosen him amongst others to lead our country and follow the wishes of the community.
Do note that I am not expressing my personal opinion here; for this we dont need my opinion actually so lets refrain from giving that.
It just amazes me that the entire government is just following the lead of something that isn’t able to control the dutch government. Only the dutch can lead them, but that is being ignored. Wonder where this will lead us.

Hello again, Luca was at my place today. I woke up very early for my standard. I was up at 0800 already and could not get the sleep anymore. Not that I cared much since I slept enough and had energy for 100 people :-). So at 0900 I finally got out of my bed and took a shower and ate my breakfast and drove towards my little son
When I got at his place he was the first one again
to be downstairs. I drunk a cup of coffee at his place and chatted a bit with him and his mother (and her parents ofcourse :)). Denise was going out that day and hopefully she had a great day (I think she had :D).
First Luca and I drove towards Hoogvliet where my brother works. We huggled Luca (err well actually Martijn did) and we toyed around a bit, it was still silent in the shop so we could do that. After that we drove to my home and (as always :-)) we went to the bakery near my house (turkish bakery, nice food!) and Luca was allowed to pick af few leafs of bread which we ate at my place.
Then my mother had a surprise for him, whether he wanted to come along with the tram towards the city… well you only have to say that once to him, he was almost gone instantly hehe. So luca and my mom went to the city for the tramtrip mostly and walked around for some moments and returned. Luca loves being in the tram and he listened very well so we rewarded him with something funny.
Shortly after that we went to my grandmother "Oma Dien" and Luca had fun there as well, we played a lot together and had great fun
We did the same later back at my place so he was very pleased again today :).
We ate pancakes and he had eaten a lot of stuff afterwards (I told his mom, but I dont know the english words so too bad :)), sadly then it was time already to head home so I drovehim to his home and marked the end of today
It was a great day again
Now next on the agenda is going under the sunbed and hack on FreeBSD for a bit (need to get round with some new source commit’s :)) and also watch soccer (dutch national team) and drink my nice beer
More updates to come!
