So today i was reading nu.nl’s news headlines and i read the article about dutch lotery’s fetching extra money automatically from their members. Why? Our queen has her 25th anniversary as monarch of our country.
Lotery’s and others now draw money from people to give her a present. The lotery’s even think that they are doing the right thing. The minister (Donner) also gave permission to automatically fetch money from the members of the lotery’s. The requirements in his opinion stated that lotery’s should inform their members asap and give them a option to disagree with it and opt-out.
Only minister donner seemed to missed something, he was advised to make a opt-in procedure instead of a opt-out procedure. If people are unaware now they will be drawn => 5euro’s from their account extra, and it gives other lotery’s and such the possibility to do more of this stuff later. (so if you are in dept, you might want to look at your accounting details).
Now i do not have anything against our queen nor her family, but she has millions on her account(s) and we the "poor" normal people need to buy her a present? It’s good for her that she is our monarch for 25 years now, but with the current situation in our country this is inappropriate. We can better spend the money in helping the sick, helping the elderly and get back our prepensioen and vut (dutch words).
