Tonight was the night…

Tonight a lot of famous people played live on stage for Warchild and i was there!
I am a Friend of Warchild for some time now and i managed to get some tickets for the concert which was last night.
I am a big fan of Marco Borsato and i really liked the show , there were lots of people from Boris to Do to Dolf Jansen to Marco Borsato and many others. Being a father myself makes me feel hurt when i see those images on the screen. I don’t think that any organisation has a better goal then Warchild. I would like to thank the crew of the concert for their performance , it was really great.

However, more thanks go to the people helping the children in countries that are devided by war. They are the real hero’s and need to be thanked ! Without them there would be no children’s laughter in those countries. I hope that they will continue to work on their efforts to help those kids!

As Ali B with Marco sang this night: 2 Fingers in the air for warchild!

If you want to help out, please contact me first via the contact
form, please tell me what chapter you would like to translate (or if
you just want to check the stuff that’s also fine) and what version you
would like to use. I will check whether that builds and give you
permission to start the chapter. Note that perhaps others asked the
same question, in that angle i will be very hard: First come, First
Serve. So it’s wise to include 2 chapters, your primairy one which you
would happily translate and a secondairy one in case someone obtained
it already.

When the approval came for the chapter / article / part you want to translate. You will be asked what address needs to be included on our freebsd-doc-nl mailinglist. In that way you can keep track with the projects internals and read frequent updates.

On my other site (tienervaders.org) i noticed that there was a abuse about the poll that went on there. Ofcourse i read through my logs every period (very regularly). I would like to point out that it’s also the case for evilcoder.org. My logs are carefully watched from second to second, nothing gets missed. Certain familiar people of me think that i don’t see them hopping by. I have to disappoint them, i do see you.

Okay, it had to come one day. Exactly today it is 21 years ago that my mother gave birth to me. In that time i went from baby, to little kid, to kid, to teenager, to what i am today.

There are loads of nice things that i had in this life so far. With the highest ranking : LUCA my beloved son! Luca: I love you very much, daddy became 21 today :), also i became a FreeBSD Doc committer recently (15oct2004), having a good job and nice friends.

Just a year more, and then i will be 22… :)

Yesterday i went with my work to one of the most luxurious hotels in the Netherlands. It was huge, nice and awesome. We had a workshop there and we also had some games outside which were related to the workshop. It was very nice weather at the beach so i can look back to a great day with my co-workers.

Oh and the food was delicious, during the midday we had a small flesh thingy (filet) not sure what it was but it tasted great! Afterwards we got fish, but since i didn’t eat fish my coworkers told the waiter that i didn’t eat fish and if there was something else. They returned with steak, you should have watched the faces of my coworkers :-). I’d say, when are we going back to it ? :-)

Sad news arrived my ear (yesterday) and i am shocked by it. Three people, which i know from nick and with whom i chatted a bit from time to time where involved in a car accident in France yesterdaymorning at 0648. This happened after they brought Richard Stallman to Paris where Richard was going to meet a French minister.  One of the founders of XS4all Rob Gonggrijp lended his car to the three (McLightje, madeddie and webmind) to bring Richard to Paris. On the way back they collided with a truck which was merging with their lane during a foggy weather condition.

McLightje did not survive the accident, the other 2 were injured.

My deepest sympathy go to the family of Hans Bakker (McLightje) and his girlfriend and his friends, it really shocked my deeply. I wish a quick revalidation for madaddie and webmind, and i hope they have a lot of support as well, since they were in the car.

For more information (about a advertisement the community wish to place and more) check out this site:

Rest in Peace Hans!
