As promised a little topic about why i don’t use google-ads for a undetermined time.As we all might know or not know, google collects data from the internet and makes it available through search engines. If you use that search engine you will have a cooky placed that will not expire the rest of your computers live. Inside is a unique id and a verification code. Also there are 2 dates mentioned, the first time you got the cookie, and the last time you used the cookie. With this way google can trace each and everyone of you using that search engine.Besides that google also utilizes a google-bar, which is basically worse since it updates by itself without any notice and it sends any data you type in it to it’s mother (google). Now the most parts of that happen on all of the internet, everything gets logged, is being seen by the administrators (if they are good ;)) so that’s not new. What makes this different from others? Well i can’t actually tell, more companies do the same. What do they do then? Well they obtain the data as mentioned, but they don’t have a privacy policy, so your data might be selled to others which might send you advertisements or something similiar. And that is not that bad per se, it’s bad that they never tell you what they do with your data. The part on which i decided not to use google-ads anymore is the previous point. Google should tell you what they do with your data. And if they keep it forever, well that might be okay, as long as i know that that happends so i can decide whether i want to use the software or not. This is not a basic thingy like ‘ oh they collect my data ‘ no it’s more about what the hell do they do with my data.Perhaps you think the same as i, well thank you then. If you don’t agree, perhaps you can expand your story by using the contact form, i might even consider placeing every reaction online (if you say ok :-)). Continue reading »
