The Tuesday in my life. Again my alarm woke me around 06.00. Today i drove the car to work, dropping my dad at his work and driving towards my work. I arrived there at 06.45
My collegue Marc was already there performing a calculated change. I helped him out a bit and the day begun. Around 13.00 it was time for me to go home again (The weather was nice at that point). I drove to my dad’s work and picked him up. We arrived at home around 13.45, and we had a drink there (coffee and tea).
After that it was time to get online, which failed since MSN Was not coorporating with me. Ah well time for a nice little UT2004 game then. I played till 17.00 hours and it was time to eat. In the meantime i answered some FreeBSD-Questions questions, and worked through some updates of the FreeBSD Dutch Documentation Project. Oh and i changed the wheels of my skates so that they are clean again and turned them since the wheels dont get old soon. I used them for < 2km today since it isn’t a good day to skate that much (yesterday i went skating a lot and tommorrow again).
After dinner i spent my time gaming, chatting and updating my systems, installing new security packages and hacking around in a perl script that i am writing to perform email administration. Since tommorrow i will be free, i won’t go to bed at 23.00 today but that will be around 01.00.
At 0100 i went to bed, updated my systems today and hacked in my perl script. Another well done day.

In the serie, a day in the life from, i will today tell what i have done
My alarm went at 06.00 since i needed to go to work, so i ate a bit and took a shower, after that i drove with my dad to my work (since we work near eachother). Arrived there at 0645. There i started doing my daily staks and finished around 13.00. I walked to my dad’s office and we drove home (well actually i did ;-)) After arriving at home i decided that the weather was nice so that it was time to take a hike, wel actually i skated a bit :-).
Around 20 kilometers today, so not that much, but remarkable :-). After that HuMPie and i did some registration on domain names for our brand new webserver which is coming soon (he is being tested currently should arrive this week) and after that we hang him into a providers space (faster internetpage ;)).
Oh in the meantime i ate a bit again
and i turned my DVD of Joe Satriani on , i enjoy his music since it’s very relaxed guitarmusic which i love.
Altered some FreeBSD Doc’s and did not much else then chatting
Tommorrow an new update

Like yesterday it’s perhaps nice to view something about what i exactly do on Sunday. I prefer to do not that much on this day, since the day after i need to work again.
What did i do so far? (14:47)
I worked on my freebsd dutch documentation project again, adding some new features (/freebsd_html/) created cronjobs that rebuild the documentation every six hours (perhaps increase that to every hour,,, thinking about that).
Chatted with Josef from FreeBSD, talked about a deadline for some documentation to be ready (a must do able time was agreed upon).
Enhanced the pages of the FreeBSD project (link located on the left menu), and checked my CVS version ID from the basics that i translated. (for one that wants to know: 1.124 is my version)
What do i need to do today?
Implement cookies on my evilcoder-admin program (email administration)
Mail the FreeBSD Dutch Documentation team, to update some information to them and ask which CVSID they currently translate (makes it easier to trace changes etc).
And some more stuff that comes to mind

After a long game tonight the dutch soccer team is going to the quarter finals. The game was not that good, i personally think. But we had our chances, even as the Swedish team.
When the time came for penalty’s, my heart was in my throat, we never won penalty’s before. And now , actually now we did it. And who scored the wining goal? Arjan Robben, the person who got changed in a previous game, causing a national debate. He and Edwin van der Sar took us to the Quarter finals in Portugal. Oranje, good luck on your next game! I will watch again!

Today i got up around 0900. And that after being out last night. So that was a surprise for me :-). I started with reading my email, and i get plenty of them (refering to the statistic pages). While reading i got a idea that i had to resolve immediatly, fixed some Sint-Patrick.org thingy’s (including a documentation something for one of the groups).
I was getting a bit thirsty so i grabbed a cup of tea. Nice little "Cactus" tea. Well not that nice, since i didn’t like the taste. So back to getting Rooibos tea again. I love that taste :-).
I worked on the FreeBSD Dutch Documentation material as well as my own chapter which i nearly finished.
I continued hacking around a bit, changed some stuff, chatted up with the drummer of last night’s band (Richard.. see previous stories for more information about last night). And then the time came that i wanted to skate. So i put on my skates and went skating to the Scouts of Sint-Patrick, yeah indeed the websites i host are from them. I coulnd’t get to the field were the scouts and my best friend Rik and friend Vicram (and others that i know) were playing. So i decided to be in the dark shade’s of the trees that are near the field, from which i could see what they were doing. Ofcourse as a good scout need, Vicram saw me, notified Rik, and he jumped through the trees towards me, in silence.. He hoped..
I saw him jumping through the trees so no surprise today :-). I chatted a bit with Rik before he needed to get back to his scouts.

As i mentioned before, i was going to NightTown today. I Scored a shirt of All for Nothing so i have a blackshirt extra in my drawer now.
What about the evening? Well i met up with my friend and a friend of his, and we went to NightTown. Arrived there, bought a beer, got our tickets, and bought the shirt.
Then there was a guy calling "Puz is going to start" So we all went inside and Puz warmed us up. Personally i thought that the part in the middle, where the guitarist spoke some words, was to long. He needed to play instead of talking
After that my friend and the rest of the band came on stage. They changed equipement and started playing. Richard played his ass of tonight, well he had to because it was the release of their cd! I personally found it very cool music , even saw a mosh pit (well multiple actually). I think that All for Nothing will grow bigger, since their sound is real cool! Keep up dudes!

Tonight i will be in NightTown Rotterdam. I, the person whom does not join those occassions.
The main reason for this trip to NightTown is that Richard, a friend of mine! is promoting his debutcd tonight. He is going to play with his band All for Nothing. And i will be there to see my friend live on stage. It will be one hell of an night, especially because i love the music, and another friend of Richard and mine is going as well. I am already looking forward seeing Richard play live.
Oh have a look at the All for Nothing website. They will appriciate it if you visit this page so learn more about them. Tonight i will add an topic about how the night was. For now, i wish All for Nothing, and especially my friend Continue reading »

As people might or might not know, i am the project leader of the FreeBSD Dutch Documentation Project. This involves doing communications with FreeBSD, other FreeBSD Documentation Projects and with the members of the list. And even setting communications with non members, to inform them what we are doing.
This is based for usage of Mostly-Harmless.nl (the primairy reason i went to translate the documentation).
Currently we have a team of individuals that workout documentation and think along with me for the routes we need to take in bringing our project to a good end. This is sometimes difficult because you cannot always make everyone happy with the documentation that still need to be worked out.
Today i am working on the Unix basics section, which i am doing for a couple of time now. The sections are huge, so it seems like no progress is being made. That is not correct, as for other chapters as well. The documentation is just big :). But then again.. I worked out the ELF section at the bottom of my chapter today. which gives me a status of 58.6% of the total. Tomorrow i am going to workout the Disk section, where i ended the last time i editted the documentation. So if you want to help out? Feel free to do so.
You can find information about the project in the section of FreeBSD listed on the left of this page.

Today i was with my son, it was very great. We played and laughed. The facility i was at had great toys for him, so there was a lot of playing to do :). I look forward to the next time that i will see him again.
Oh yeah my freeday changed from friday to wednesday starting from today
So, having a free day at wednesday results in cleaning up a little from time to time. I cleaned my servers, they were having a bit of slack on their drives (data that already was out of date etc).
Also cleaning up some old irrelevant pages that were on display on the website (now fetching the statistics through another feed) and creating some more pages that tell more about my network (not published yet).
Besides that i cleaned my room, it’s nice and tidy again. My black machines are again cool to see in my light wooden room.
Oh , and i am going to continue a bit on evilcoder-admin today, a mail administration application, which need some cleanup, and some expansion. Currently working to a testversion, so that i can see whether the page displays anything at all !
